WAKE UP SKINNY: CREATE CHIC, SLEEK HAIR

Here at Project Beauty we believe all hair types are beautiful, from curly to straight, from thin to full volume. But in this summer heat, big hair can be a burden. Earlier we talked about how to do a better DIY blowout. But if you ever need a break from blow drying, air dry your way to skinny hair with the Hairgurt Smoothing Yogurt Shampoo and Hair Masque.

Here’s the fun part: enjoy the sweet Strawberry Banana scent of Hairgurt Smoothing Yogurt while the Yogurt Protein, Prebiotics, Quinoa, Botanical Oil Blend and Bio-Keratin collaborate to help tame hair that’s unruly, frizzy or dry. Even your semi-behaved hair will benefit from this nourishing and hydrating recipe.

After you’ve washed and conditioned, don’t leave the shower yet. Give you hair an extra rinse of cold water to seal the hair cuticle, which is the outer layer of the hair shaft. And before you reach for your usual terry cloth towel — which grabs and damages fragile, wet hair — instead, pick up a soft cotton tee shirt, microfiber towel or pillowcase.

Next, don’t rub and wrestle your hair dry. Use that cotton tee shirt to squeeze the water from your hair. Rubbing your hair is roughing up your cuticle, causing damage and frizz. When you see someone with sleek and shiny hair, what you’re seeing is the light reflecting off of a flat, smooth cuticle. Smoothing the outer layer also repels the moisture (summer humidity, I’m looking at you!) that causes frizz.

As Miss Argentina, Valentina Ferrera, recommended in an earlier Project Beauty blog, use your Hairgurt Hair Masque as a leave-in conditioner, combing an extra dollop of Hairgurt through your mane with a wide-tooth comb.

Now how do you keep your hair under control while it dries? A few braids or a hair bun for long hair — or a silk scarf for short hair. Then rest your pretty head on a silk pillowcase and wake up skinny and sleek.
